About the Book:

Just 98 pages are enough to sum up the life of modern woman. Anjana V. Pai’s ~An Enigma ~ spines around the most questioning tale of most modern women living in the present era.
The pivotal question stands unanswered- “To love or not to love- at the sake of own personal dreams and career pursuits?” Choices are many to pick from- but for a woman, life is more like a bottled neck existence- her plight might be shared by others of her kind but the rescuing support is bleak and dismal. Women can speak of her and mention of her in passing gossip strains but Cynthia remains an enigmatic uneasiness in the air of prosperity. She is brave and does triumph over odds but falls short of love and of human care. Anjana, more than writing a novel- seems to have summarized a much close to heart story- something that you can write down in a journal without the mention of the exact time and date of the occurrences.

An Enigma- is not Ladies Coupe- neither it is a tailored version of any random Anita
Desai novel- it is more of a novella finished off hurriedly. No theories can be drawn out of it since ,it is a stretched out short story- finding its way through several pages- yet- hard enough to give any reader the required jolt back to harsh reality.
